    Putting aside all matters of performance, price, and national origin for the moment, I like the design of BMW and MB sport sedans a lot better than Cadillac's CTS. The German cars are more conservatively styled, using subtle cues to distinguish their capability. The CTS-V has always looked to me like an art school class project with its bulging flanks, exaggerated corners, and garish trim.

    Unfortunately it is styled more like a 4 door Camaro, which is why (as good as it is technically) the German players will continue to own this segment.

    Reliability and cost-to-own are factors that need consideration. That 12 cylinder Benz that Edmunds sent down the road was an over-priced money pit. Power, luxury and American? Yes please.

    I agree the styling is not quite up to par, looks like a Pontiac.

    Not sure if Cadillac will just move on from this generation CTS or give a heavy update, but frankly at this price level, major updates seem out of place. Coming out with all new is more appropriate. That said, if they just gave the rear end of this car a major re-do, the rest of the car's lines would fall into place. From the front all the way back to just before the c-pillar is good, the c-pillar back, is where this car falls flat. GM tends to do that with a lot of their sedans lately.

    Tesla hasn't figured a way to match the sound of a nice V8 yet and bet the Cadillac whoops the Tesla in a 1/2 mile

    Overall I like the Styling but has others have noted, the rear end could use some help. I'll be looking for a nice low mileage used one in a year or two.
