I'm assuming this is California?

The sales tax figure is irrelevant, as tax is charged on the monthly payment in California. Dealers like to quote that sales tax figure, so you'll start adding it in, even though it doesn't apply. The other $470 or so is legitimate.
There is also a $795 acquisition fee that isn't mentioned..

Let's assume your $1000 drive-off includes the 1st payment + those $4XX in fees..
We'll add the $795 acq.fee to your selling price for a CAP cost of $36,475.
We'll use the base MF of .00118.
Payment is $376/mo.+tax.
If tax is 8%, payment would be $407/mo.

So.. they aren't far off.. $19/mo. The marked up MF accounts for about $15/mo. of that..
