The 2014 BMW i3's back seat is small, but a pair of adults can fit quite comfortably back there.

I guess it's all about expectation. If you're expecting a Mustang-sized back seat then yes, this is huge. If you're looking for something to actually transport 4 adults for any sort of distance, then I don't know... looks pretty tight back there. Maybe the headroom makes up for it though.

The i3 was designed as a city car. If you need to transport anyone any sort of distance, you need to look elsewhere. That said, my friends tell me the i3 rear seat is every bit as comfortable as our E90 four-door.

I thought the back seat wss a little too vertical for my taste. The driving position was pretty good though.

That's too small; my Leaf is substantially bigger, and even its back seat can be tight.

We have a Leaf and an I3. I'm 5'10 and can sit behind my self comfortably in the I3. In the Leaf the bench is much lower and, while legroom is similar, comfort is lower in the Leaf. There's no way we can get 3 adults in the rear of the Leaf so it's about the same as the I3. The cargo space of the Leaf is taller and wider....so there's that.

Nice trick, reminds me of the couple who watched all 24 episodes of the first season of M*A*S*H back to back. The husband lucked out - he was facing the TV. B)
