Valve body repair help. Check balls came out of the valve body.

I have a 1984 chevy silverado pick up truck. It has a 454 engine.
It is a Turbo 400 Transmission.
My question is... 3 check balls came out of the valve body...
Problem is, I have no clue where they came from. So how do I know where to put the check balls at?
If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it..

I have read a couple other forums, and for some reason have only found posts about valve body's that have 6 check balls. Maybe Im not searching hard enough. But I just need to know where these 3 check balls go, before I put everything back together..

You have the street version. Follow this pdf, the check ball locations are described in the directions associated to figure 11 on page 4.

Only 3 balls came out when I removed the valve body. This diagram has 6 of them. Do I have to have all 6? Why did mine only have 3 of them?

The pdf linked explains that. With three check balls, you have the street (light duty) version of the transmission. The heavy duty version used all six balls.

if there is no power going to the kick down solenoid, could that keep the truck from shifting into 3rd gear??

and also, in the valve body of the transmission, what causes the manual valve go back into park position,when the gear selector is moved into park?
