Reminds me of the Chevy Trucks we have at work. On cold frosty mornings you start them up and one of the first things that pop up in the message center is "Ice Possible Drive With Care". Duh.

Gee, turn it off if you don't need it. You know you don't need SXM radio as well, there is FM, but it's an option. What has Murano as a car to do with it? This warning comes from Sirius satellite package. Free subscription will end in 3 months anyway. Also for some people living in north some warnings like blizzard coming etc are very helpful. Was this article even necessary - it brings nothing new to readers. Nothing useful. Would have been much more useful if you guys would have posted how HVAC works for example or how good is Bluetooth etc.

Nissan put that warning message as a welcome message for Canadians heading south during the winter months. :)

It's probably pulling data from the National Weather Service. The "normal" advisories are things like flash flood warnings, severe thunderstorms, possible tornadoes, etc., but severe heat advisories are common in this part of the country. While they might serve to notify senior citizens that don't have air conditioning that it might be wise to go to a public cooling center/building, it probably doesn't impact an SUV driver. Unfortunately it appears the programming of this navigation system and processing of the traffic/weather info doesn't use an advanced logic to determine what to display.
