My 2001 tundra v8 4.7 litres
Will not go past 90 miles per hour
I'm not a speed person but I like to know my truck is in top shape
Odo reads 99073 on the i way I tried pushing it to a 100 mph but it not go can anybody tell me what's happening to my truck

And, the frontal area of the Tundra probably limits the top speed as well.
Not exactly sure why you need to know how fast it will go, when the highest speed limit in the country is 85MPH on one stretch of road in Texas.Edmunds Price Checker

Mr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481I believe the top speed on your truck is limited by the ECM--something like 105 mph, in order to conform to the tire speed rating. So with speedometer error, I'd say your truck is being stopped by the computer from going any faster. Probably even without a limiter you couldn't go all that much faster, given the gearing and the aero effects. You really wouldn't want to, as the truck might "lift" at such speeds and compromise steering. It's really not designed for high speed.5
