I am going to buy a new car, 2015 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD, in two weeks. What price I should target to? I got the best offer from internet is: vehicle price: $27359, which do not include $389.00 Dealer Documentation / Processing Fee...
Can I get better price from there? The MSRP is $30275 and factory invoice is $28472 in MA.
Thanks for help!

Looks like "plenty" of inventory left around Boston. Plenty being around 300 EX-Ls and I assume most all of those are AWD up there. Not sure how much it'll thin out in a couple of weeks. Waiting three weeks would get you to the prime end of the month buying time, when (some) dealers may be more aggressive in order to reach quota or earn bonus money. Or they may sell out.

Anyway, right now TMV is running about $50 over the invoice price of $$28,472.

Since TMV is an average, I think I'd be pretty happy if they went to $1,500 under invoice ($26,972), ate the doc fees and just charged you the taxes. We see that range in some areas so maybe it's doable there too. If they seem adamant about their doc fee, then the number to start from would be $26,472 or $2,000 under invoice. We've seen a few of those deals too - not many, but a few.

Wouldn't hurt to shop the quote around.

Thank you, stever, I am afraid that I don't know how to negotiate, I probably will set a price, if the dealer accepts it, I would buy, or I'll leave.

Walking out is a great form of negotiation.

One version of that is the rather infamous (around here) @bobst method of car buying.

I got a offer $26783, which is $1700 below the invoice for 2015 Honda CR-V EX-L. Now the only thing I am not sure is that harmonic vibration. Does it happen in every vehicle?

I also got a offer for 2016 Honda CR-V EX-L. It is $27900, invoice is $28659. Is it a good deal?
    Thanks!

Honda has a new TSB out that addresses the vibration. Sounds like it's a fixable issue. See this other forum link for more.

I'm partial to buying the latest and greatest. To me, the $800 off invoice quote for the 2016 would be the way to go. Another $900 off what's essentially the same car is nothing to sneeze at though.

For someone who claims they don't know how to negotiate, you're doing very well!

Like I said, I just post what my target price is, and if I can get this price, I will buy two. My friend is looking for buy same one. We can buy together to get better offer. :)

That's what we just did with two 2015 tourings, but ended up getting one in NH and one in RI. Dealers are very motivated to clear them out. So far we're thrilled with them, and are not experiencing vibration. It's possible that the fix was already applied to the final 2015 production units, but I'm not sure of that.

    Good luck!

The TSB for this issue, #15-046, probably was rolled in as the issue got sorted out. My understanding is that TSB was officially issued on Nov. 4. so your manufacturing date may shed some light on the timing.

More important, many owners never noticed any unusual vibration at all.

May I ask which NH Dealer? How good your deals are?

Absolutely. There's actually a dedicated discussion/thread about this:
    http://forums.edmunds.com/discussion/30664/honda/cr-v/2015-honda-cr-v-prices-paid-and-buying-experiences#latest

The NH dealer was Rockingham Honda in Salem, NH. Very friendly and professional!
The second was from a dealer in RI, just a few miles from our house. (they matched/beat the NH price a bit) $29,494 for 2015 Touring, including destination charge. (doc and tax were extra) MSRP was $33,775

Boch in Norwood, MA was also very aggressive with pricing, and almost got our business. (We would have purchased #2 there if they had the color(s) we wanted in stock)

Thank you Stever and rhody401! I have another question. How to get dealer invoice information? Is Honda Sensing available for 2016 CR-V?

That TMV link above has invoice listed (note that some sites omit the destination when listing invoice, and sometimes there's an ad fee stuck on that will skew the invoice from the "norm").

Looking at the online CR-V brochure, it says this:

"The CR-V Touring comes equipped with Honda
Sensing technology. This suite of safety and
driver-assistive features helps improve the driver’s
situational awareness, and in some cases intervenes
to help avoid a collision or mitigate its severity"

Looks like we call it "Pre-collision safety system" under the Features and Specs (also under that TMV link).

My friend and I both purchased the 2016 Honda CR-V EX-L at Honda Village Newton, MA yesterday. The dealer doesn't want us to tell the exact purchase prices ( more than $1000 off invoice). But do wish us bring new customers to him (Scott). He's a very pleasant and motivated salesman.

After waiting for whole week, I finally could take the new car with me today. But the dealer switched my original purchased car to one with a high mileage on it. The dealer told me that they found a low mileage car for me , and asked me to re-sign the paperwork. On the second new car ODOMETER DISCLOSURE STATEMENT stated that "THE ODOMETER NOW READS 35 MILES AND TO THE BEST MY KNOWLEDGE THAT IT REFLECTS THE ACTUAL MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE DESCRIBED BELOW." (The origin one was 60 miles on it). But after waiting in waiting room for around 2 hours, finally I got the key and started the engine. The odometer reading showed 93 miles in front of me.

The dealer use cheating way to ask me sign new paperwork. When I found it, it was too late.

The lesson here is :Check the car first before you sign any documents. Never trust the dealers!

Plenty of people will relate their selling price. Incentives are the same, so lease or buy shouldn't matter.
