Thanks. Can I ask the residual and MF for SLT 39 months, 12k and 15k in SC? Dealership told me .00254 - I'm guessing they jacked it up quite a bit.

Same MF.. Subtract 2% from 36 month residual for 39 month term.

Extra miles would be purchased up front at .10-.25 per mile and deducted from the calculated residual.

I had your numbers in hand when speaking with dealer last night. 

They admitted they are padding the MF to .00254 because, as the sales manager said "they went so low on sales price of 2016 and giving additional on my trade- 2013 yukon denali." 
I own my 2013 with 15k left on payoff. 

We negotiated the sales price & trade before I mentioned leasing. 
So now they want to pad the MF? 

The deal they proposed -
Msrp $70,920
purchase price $66,000
Cost $58,500 (8,000 down from trade equity)
Residual- $39,006 -(55% at 15kmiles/39 months)
MF .00254
$800 payment with tax in Fl

I am not putting $8k trade equity into this lease. I was willing to $2500 down at the max. 
With my calculations on $2500 down and THEIR proposed MF the payment is $948. 

$948 lease seems high on $66k sales price. 

I can trade the 2013 & purchase 2016
with 0.0 for 60 months and have a payment of $744.

Not sure I want to own a yukon again though. More comfortable cashing out equity and leasing for 3 years. 

I haven't leased in about 6 years. 

Am I being unreasonable on the deal with inflated MF presented? 

Can you provide new GM numbers later this week when they are released? 

Any input very much appreciated.

SLT - 57%

Add 1% for 10K.

These numbers expire today (1 February 2016). New numbers should be available this week.

I am currently leasing a 2014 Nissan Altima. It is due back March 2017 and I owe $3,014 on my lease, but my family has outgrown the Altima and I would like to get into a 2016 Yukon XL.

GM Dealer offered: 2016 Yukon SLT XL - Iridium Metallic - Open Road Package - MSRP $67,145 - Selling Price $63,472 + they would write me a check for $3,014 to pay off my Altima and return it to Nissan early.

With having all my taxes and fees rolled into my payment and only 1st month due at signing they offered me: 39 months - $1099 (12k miles) or 48 months - $999 (12k miles)

If I pay the taxes ($3000) plus the first months payment, my payments would be: 39 months - $1000 or 48 - $900

I really need some help here because Im not exactly sure how everyone is able to figure out what their lease payments should be and if I am getting a good deal or not.

Let's put the Altima to the side for the moment. Using the MSRP and selling price you've provided, I get a pre-tax payment of $852/mo for 36 months or $795/mo for 48 months.

What state and tax rate is this?

I would get the adjusted capitalized cost from the dealer - if higher than the selling price they've quoted you, find out what's been added. Certainly the acquisition fee, but there might be other fees as well. Get a breakdown.

So, you would not be trading in the Altima? That puts a lot of risk on you - mileage charges, end of lease damage charges,in addition to the remaining payments. Some of that seems to be added into your new lease.

Find out the payoff on the Altima (call whichever bank you send the payments to), then get a good estimate on the trade value - can use a local CarMax if one is close by or check out the "Real World Trade in Values" discussion here at Edmunds. That way, you'll know how much positive or negative equity you have, and how that would affect the numbers on the new lease.

Thanks so much for the quick reply! I thought those numbers seemed high to me bc he first told me that we could get the car for around $800, before we factored in the Altima. I am going to see if I can get him to email me the breakdown of all the fees. I also spoke with Nissan, and all we would owe is what we have outstanding as far as our remaining payments bc we are well below our mileage.

Thanks so much for the quick reply! I thought those numbers seemed high to me bc he first told me that we could get the car for around $800, before we factored in the Altima. I am going to see if I can get him to email me the breakdown of all the fees. I also spoke with Nissan, and all we would owe is what we have outstanding as far as our remaining payments bc we are well below our mileage. 

And we we are in NJ for taxes. He told me it would be $3000 for tax. 

NJ assesses sales tax against the sum of the payments ... so, for $800/mo, that would be around $2200 if the tax rate is 7.5%.
