I have a 2001 Lincoln LS 6 cylinder audible warning.

When I start the car, I get an audible bell warning -

The 5x5 warning means the restraints control module system (airbag) has a failure where it cannot control the warning lamp and the failure has also resulted in the system being disabled. The biggest issue here is the possibility of no deployment of the airbags in the event of an accident. Someone with the right tools and equipment will need to troubleshoot and repair this system. ASAP.

Doc---does the fact that there's an audible but no warning light give us any further hints?

No. It's going to take a scan tool and some pinpoint testing to get any further.

Can this alarm be disabled?
