Negotiating for a 2013 Sonata GLS

I am negotiating with a dealership on a silver 2013 Sonata, 17k miles, warrantied by Hyundai. The car is in clean condition with a few, small dings on the exterior and some rub marks on the bumper. Looks to have been a former lease. Checks out fine with mechanic. Clean Carfax. This would be a cash purchase.

Would $12,250, no dealership fees, be a good price before tax? Location is NYC.

Could use more info. What trim level? What color?

The car is silver with the popular package (heated front seats, power driver's seat, alloy wheels, etc).

I made the purchase. Still curious to hear what you think.

good price, very low mileage, smart to get an independent inspection by a mechanic! Be warned that the YF Sonata (2011-14) requires a lot of TLC. Suggest you register online with "my hyundai" and then do a VIN check of outstanding recalls. I still own my 2011 Sonata and have had 8 recalls in the past 5.5 years. It can be a good car but you really have to watch the oil level (weekly). There is an owners forum on another site with lots of good info...

    Good info! ty

I see two closed campaigns listed under this vehicle:
    SONATA SHIFT LEVER RECALL CAMPAIGN
SANTA FE & SONATA ENGINE CONTROL MODULE SERVICE CAMPAIGN (software update)

There are no open campaigns for the VIN.

    Seems like a good price

Wound up being 1 fee, $75 for a documentation fee on top of the NY Registration & plates. Seemed to be a different department from the sales rep so I let it go after spending 5 hours at the dealership. Got them to put $10k of the sale on two 2% cash back credit cards though, so net win.

Dealer doc fees are restricted to $75 in NYS. So, naturally, every dealer charges $75, there.

Typical, and I wouldn't sweat it.
