Noise when turning steering wheel when the temperature drops in the 40's.

We purchased a 2010 SRX in the spring about 3 yrs ago. As soon as the weather turned cold we started hearing loud noises everytime you turned the steering wheel. Took it back to the dealer and the weather was warm enough that day they couldn't hear anything and of course nothing was done. Took it back again and still nothing fixed. Just took it back a couple days ago and it was cold and the noise was really loud. They kept it for the day and claimed they took the steering wheel apart and greased it good and tightened some bolt or something. Husband brought it home and it's still making loud noise. Really aggravated because I know General Motors has had enough complaints that they should know what the problem is. Getting really fed up and ready to go off on someone. Too much money spent to get no satisfaction.

Is this noise in the steering column or are you hearing it from the power steering pump? Opening the hood while it is happening should allow the noise to be precisely located.
