2014 Nissan Pathfinder or 2014 Toyota Highlander

I test drove both a Nissan Pathfinder and a Toyota Highlander and I enjoyed the ride and drive in the Pathfinder more than the Highlander. I did some more research and I am noticing multiple articles or posts regarding the transmission having to be constantly worked on and/or replaced. Based on this I am leaning more to the Highlander. What do you recommend? The Pathfinder tends to have better gas mileage and might be a bit cheaper but it seems like the reliability on the Highlander is much higher. Thank you.

Hello very good questions and concerns
it was something I was faced with before I bought my 2013 pathfinder. I'm sorry but I cannot recommend the pathfinder having first hand experience with many quality control issues and lack of reliability mostly from the transmission 2 replacements in 30,000 miles and nissans lack of trying to take care of the customer the lack of making things right in these situations I covered my own towing cost and covered my own rental car fees because it was longer than 2 days in the shop for the replacement. The worst part is the service advisors at Nissan act like your the first person to ever have a Cvt issue in your pathfinder. They've had thousands of cvts with odometer readings of 5000 miles or less have major catastrophic malfunction. I'd be very surprised if the cvt failures are no longer a problem in 2016 models because we all know 2013,2014 and 2015 all had same problems and failures. Do not by a pathfinder!! Highlander is more expensive but seems much better option in my personal opinion. I could list over 12 significant problems I've had with my pathfinder some were covered by warranty but some were not. This vehicle is my last Nissan and I'm looking at trade in options as we speak. Good luck
