Okay...so follow-up questions. How did you secure the tailgate to keep it from popping up (such as a hard hit on a speedbump) and causing the ratchet strap to come loose? Or did you just get lucky on it? Second, no couch/loveseat/chairs to move? I'm surprised that the Queen size mattress didn't fit across the inside of the bed. I'd have thought it'd sit fine over the top of the wheel wells. How off was it?

For once I don't have a snappy comeback for my usual "my minivan can do that post".

I've hauled queens and kings in my minivans (beds that is) but have always had to put 'em on the roof rack. And some of those suckers are heavy.

K-Town represent!! But you'd better like Korean BBQ, because you'll have to travel outside the neighborhood if you want any other kind of food. :P

I'm going to recycle a queen size set, so this was an informative post. Here is CT it costs $25 to have it taken away.
The other side of the equation is that if you bring it to the recycling center yourself, they pay you.

huh... we just hauled a full size bed in our F-150 and it fit inside the bed, not length ways, but the width was perfect.

Maybe it's the Full-size mattress I was thinking would fit between the bedsides. I know a King bed is a smidge too big. @steve4ford : If the Full-size fit "perfect" in the bed, then the queen would be too wide.
