    Another way to look at is new shoes cost 1.8% of the car's cost. That's in line (coincidentally?) with what I pay for new tires, slightly less in fact. Of course, mine last a few tens of thousands of miles...

    When I was growing up, my dad had a friend who only drove Corvettes. He told me that as soon as the Vette needed new tires, he would just trade it in on the next one, since the tires cost about the same as a down payment. He averaged a new one about once every 9 months.

    60 TreadWear? LOL. Guess those are basically racing tires. If our SUV's tires are 800 TreadWear, then this should last...

    How do you think the car posts the slalom numbers and lap times it does? It's them shoes, baby.

    Given the Viper's already ornery disposition, you'd better spend a bundle on tires. If you need consolation for spending all that $$$, check out the used Viper ads in Hemmings, and count how many are being sold wrecked.
