As lukewarm as I am toward the engine and transmission of our 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk, I appreciate the little crossover's spacious cabin. Its boxy body may have been designed with little consideration to aerodynamics, but the high roof provides ample headroom. I'm 6-feet, 4 inches, and there are several inches between the top of my head and the headliner.

I am a similar height, but a bit wider I think. When I attend the Chicago Auto Show each year I do the sit behind myself test on as many sedans and SUV's as I can. Since I started driving part-time for Uber last year this has become something I am even more aware of.

I noticed last year that the Renegade was quite spacious. I fit behind myself better in it then I do the much larger Ford Taurus.

Why are people surprised when CUV/SUVs have more room than a larger car? Getting the body over the mechanicals means more room in the cabin and makes it easy to see over other cars. That is one of the best reasons to get one, much better space utilization. The Renegade has the potential to be a really cool little wagon but is soooooo let down by too many gears and a gutless engine.
