the bigger cherokee gets the same milage with the same engine combo, at least its a bit bigger, and imho better looking. I'd still hate how slow and gas guzzling the cherokee was when I put 3,000 miles on it. 22-24 mpg on the freeway. And I have no idea when the thing actually uses 9th gear. 85mph - no, 65mph - no. whats the point?

jeep renegade limited fwd 0% for 60 months and $1k bonus cash advertisement on this page... hmmmm... can't imagine why the need for generous incentives when subcompact cuvs are all the rage...

ad claims "over 390-mile driving range"! with the legal disclaimer: "Based on manufacturer estimated 31 hwy mpg and 12.7-gallon fuel tank, 4x2. Actual mileage may vary."

    YMMV indeed.

I've gotten similar mileage out of my 2002 4Runner (3,800lbs, V6 4wd 4 speed auto). My record is 20.43, and I've seen 19+ several times. This isn't apples to apples, I just feel that a 4 cylinder crossover shouldn't be getting comparable gas mileage to a 14 year old body on frame 6 cylinder SUV.

Wait - your gas prices start with a "3"?! Wow, here in non-California-land, we're still near $2/gallon. I hope you guys don't give this pig a pass when it's time for the wrap-up.
