The base 2016 Tesla Model X electric SUV is now priced at $83,000, including a $1,200 destination charge, for a $3,000 price increase over the previous base model, according to the Tesla vehicle configurator.
When asked to confirm the price increase, Tesla spokeswoman Alexis Georgeson wrote: "The small price increase reflects the added energy now standard on the base Model X; we've replaced the 70 kWh battery with a 75 kWh battery for more range."
