I did not see a thread on this.

I just bought a new XF yesterday. I got a low coolant warning light today after 40 miles of driving. Turns out I have a major leak. I now noticed a large amount of coolant on my garage floor. I have to take it into the dealership. Glad I still have my honda.

Anyone else having new car problems or solutions to those problems?

That's a shame. These things should have been caught in the pre-sale inspection process. I would tell them that whoever does those inspections needs a tongue lashing. If it had been 3,000 miles I'd have cut them some slack, but 40 miles?

Let us know what the problem was.

I was disappointed that it went into the garage after one day, but things can go wrong sometimes. As long as nothing else goes wrong... The heater hose was not secured and was rubbing against the drive belt. Had to replace the heater hose. For those in the bay area, I had a good experience with LR Jaguar San Jose service dept and Pepe in particular. They could do a better job with loaners/rentals/shuttle however.

I have a '13 Jag XF 3.0AWD. Love it! However... after 3 years of not a single issue to report, an oil change overfill in December '16 led me to the dealer where TSB work was performed including:

    Replace (weeping) water pump
    Replace groaning steering column
    Replace oxygen sensors

Shortly thereafter, the Keyless Vehicle Monitor and Antenna failed, in essence my XF was immobile. Towed to the dealer, roughly one week later, all is now good. And all above work covered by warranty with a loaner car.

Having written this, I'd avoid the early year XFs, I believe the quality/reliability improved in the latter years of the Gen 1 car, but as I note, it ain't perfect. Still, a great car to drive (and look at!). Likely my favorite car I've owned. But, when the warranty is up at the end of '17, I will have to think long and hard about keeping it. Of course, I may trade it for an XE (with longer warranty and scheduled maintenance!).
