VW's DAP system seems to do pretty much the same job. I wonder if the Civic has the same annoying ding sound if the highway is straight and the system doesn't think you have your hands on the wheel. VW does it everytime.

So many people fall for Tesla's marketing gimmicks and fawn over "Autopilot". The fact that a Civic does 95% of what the Tesla is capable of should be eye-opening to a lot of people, but no one seems to care about actually informing themselves...

Tesla is a lot more advanced. Autopilot will still operate even when lane markings are covered in snow or poor visibility during heavy rain for example by following the vehicle in front of it.

Honda's ACC problems are software related. Seems like the risk management department has a lot of say so at Honda now. My old 1998 Accord's cruise had an aggressive resume function. It would downshift two gears if you resumed while climbing a hill and a big difference in set and actual speed, allowing the engine to rev high enough to engage VTEC. My current Acura slowly eases back up to speed regardless of the difference in actual and set speeds.

I'm glad we bought our 2016 EX-T sedan without the Sensing system. I thought long and hard about it, but ultimately opted out. I'm a fan of the concept, but I'm not sure the tech has matured enough to be 100% ready for prime time at this point. I knew that after enough false alarms or a couple of unwarranted panic brake episodes, my wife would just turn the system off to avoid being continually annoyed by it. 5 or 10 years from now, I'm in.

Does the adaptive cruise control (ACC) in the 2016 Civic include "low speed follow"? If not, can someone say in which model year that particular feature within ACC became available? (I see "low speed follow" IS available in 2020, I'm just not sure about preceding years.) Thanks...
