Fully Restored by the 10,000-Mile Mark - 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata Convertible Long-Term Road Test

The odometer in our 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata just hit 10,000 miles. We'll have to be diligent about taking it on road trips if we're going to make it to our 20,000-mile goal.

Really not a huge fan of that gauge. It's a little confusing. A little cluttered. And very dated. Also, cramming a rectangular screen into a round binnacle makes me wonder if they were favoring form or function or neither.

"The road trips helped increase the Miata's overall fuel economy from 29.1 mpg in the first 5,000 miles to 30.1 mpg overall. That lands us a hair above the EPA's Combined estimate. We don't see that very often for sports cars."

That's a shocker. You don't see sports cars that weigh under 2,400 lbs and have only 155 horsepower very often, either.

LegacyGT - that gauge is perfectly legible and regular drivers will know what it all means.

Though it's a cheaper display in that it uses an old fashioned segmented display, it gets the job done and it's inoffensive. Probably a cost cutting measure.

As someone who owns a 2016 MX-5, that gauge is perfectly fine while driving / operating the car. The picture on this post doesn't do it any service, makes it look like a huge eyesore but in reality that is not the case.

Does it have a low fuel light? (Serious question)

How's the transmission holding up? Apparently, from reading the forums, more than a few transmissions have failed already.
