Fuel pump

I am getting ready to change the fuel pump on my truck and would like to purchase the new one prior to taking the old one out. I notice there are two possible fuel pumps. How do I determine which one I need to purchase?

    There is a tag on the wiring harness for the pump. Another way is to have the part looked up based on the VIN. (vehicle identification number)

    The dealer's parts department might be a good choice to buy the part in that case.
