"The Civic again achieved the EPA Combined estimate of 35 mpg over the course of the month, just like it did during May."

What are all of the DIT haters going to say this month? ;-)

Wow, impressive mileage from the direct injected turbo. Does Honda do better at preventing intake valve buildup?

Considering this car's solid acceleration and overall performance numbers, these are excellent mpg numbers...I'm waiting for the hatchback, however...

Yep, according to Fuelly, the average is in the neighborhood of 37-38 MPG. Pretty unbelievable.

My wife wants to see that one too. She's not usually a big Honda fan but liked the sedan a lot.

I wonder if yesteryear Honda would scoff at the plausibility of these numbers from future Honda? What a time to be alive: We figure out how to get incredible MPGs for petroleum based fuel, right as we're really figuring out alternatives (ie, hybrid, hybrid/electric, hydrogen). What's next? *artificial brain whirs with possibilities*

I think Honda has been working on it for quite some time. To your point, they have publicly stated a goal of creating a gasoline engine with 50% efficiency.

Same here. We will either end up with a 1.5T/CVT for my wife or an Si/TypeR for me, perhaps both.
