Weird electrical gremlin

Hello

I have this weird electrical gremlin on my Mazda3. It's a 2004 1.4 ITE and I'm the third owner.

Before few days I removed an ashtray while key was in second position. I removed contents of the ashtray and when I put it back the dashboard of the car started to blink and make a repetitive beeping noise and there was nothing to stop it anymore. The key was still in the same position and when I removed it it continued to blink and beep. The beeping stops when I close the door but the dashboard still blinks. Blinking continued when I got out of the car and locked it.

During driving I can hear a quiet sound that has got the same pattern as blinking light when the car is shut down and doors closed. This quiet sound is also present when the car is not running. Also the dashboard is lighted during driving whether lights are on or off. Note that only the dashboard is lit up, not other elements like radio or ventilation controls when lights are off during driving.

It's the weirdest, most bizzare thing that I ever imagined that a car can do. Could anyone please tell me whether they've got the same problem and does anyone know what can I do to fix this problem?

Thanks in advance!
