2009-11 Passenger side air bag recall

I received a letter last week stating that some 2009-11 Pilots have an air bag inflator that is defective. They advise that until parts are available not to allow anyone to sit in the passenger seat. The dealer I spoke with said it could be weeks before the part is received. Has anyone had theirs repaired yet?

A friend of mine was given a new HR-V to drive, while their '09 CR-V is waiting for the airbag. It's been over two months, already. This amazed me.

Its been a month now, and no air bag replacement yet available. Dealer said they would call me when it is received. Not the end of the world but it is inconvenient to not allow a person to ride in the passenger seat and have them sit in the back. With my wife riding back there I feel like a chauffeur..oh, I am.

I called the Honda information line. They said there was no eta when the replacement part will become available. Suggested that I have the dealer order the part, which the dealer has done. Three months has passed now. Though we are a family of 3, this is not a huge deal, we just have 2 sit in the back seat. It is still an inconvenience.

I just got a call that the inflator part has been received and have an appointment this Friday to have it addressed. I don't know if there is a ready parts supply now available, but I had the dealer submit an order for me. May be worth a try if you happen to have a Pilot that is subject to this recall and are waiting to hear from them.
