Gears light on panel all on

I have a 2005 Sebring Convertible Touring., today when I started it up all the blockers surrounding each of the gears on the panel were on and it seemed to be stuck in 3rd, not for sure I am in a neighborhood where the speed prohibits my speed. The engine light came on after I turned it off and back on, still the panel blocks remain. Reverse works fine. I have checked the gas cap, twice.
