Tahoe gas smell from rear drivers side door, hard start and more

Hey Guys, I haven't been on here in forever but I have a 2006 Chevy Tahoe Z71 and I am having some issues that I know the DIY experts can help with. I think I will just list issues.

Drivers side floor board is wet, its pretty dirty so hard to tell color of liquid. I have seemed to notice only when it rains. any ideas? non greasy, have found no source of liquid yet.

I have also been smelling gas coming from the back of the drivers side rear door/wheel well. It doesnt smell near the engine, or under the truck, or in the cab and I have no codes. no visible leaks. gas cap looks good.

I have noticed when I started smelling the gas, it is slowly becoming harder to get her going. It is not stalling or anything, but longer to turn over. Is this related?

One last thing, could be me looking for problems that don't exist, but I noticed yesterday after I started it, a little bit of vaper and quite a bit of liquid coming out of the tail pipe. Now before you get me, it was early evening and I had just been driving it about an hour before.

I have checked for codes and have nothing. I am worried about the gas smell now, thanks!

Now go easy on me, its been awhile since I have been able to get back to doing this myself, I am a little rusty, been dealing with work and kids haha.

Thanks in advance :)

I would check the EVAP cannister which I think on your vehicle is back there somewhere, mounted on the frame. Examine it for loose hoses, cracks, etc. After ten years, it may need replacement. Also, of course, check for leaks in the fuel lines going to the tank. This could be tough to spot unfortunately, and wouldn't throw a code.

I am also having the same fuel smell problem on my 2006 Chevy Tahoe.  This information was most helpful.  Thank you.
