I received an offer for a 2016 Toyota Highlander XLE of $37280 with an MSRP of $40175. Is this a decent deal? Also, does purchasing a Highlander with the bench seat lower the resale value compared to the Camptain's Chairs? I like the Captain's Chairs but I do not like the cup holder that pulls up on the side. It looks chintsy to me.

So your quote seems right at "average".
Captain's chair might help you sell it faster on a private party sale, but my guess is that they aren't going to add much value to the price, especially if you think you'll trade it in on a new car in a few years. I'm sure a dealer or savvy buyer will try to use the bench against you though. Captain's chairs are just a $275 option.
