honda crv cruise control

If I set my Honda 2000 crv with manual transmission on cruise to 60 mph all works fine, but if I start to go up a incline the speed starts to drop off, to lets say 55,50 45, but if I tap the gas pedal the car goes back up to 60mph. Any ideas on why this happens. I can see a little reduction in speed but the cruise should closely hold the incline.

You might consider cleaning and lubricating the cruise control cable--if the actuator") can't pull the cable freely, it won't work properly.

Also I believe your servo is vacuum actuated, so the diaphragm in the servo might have a pinhole leak. You will need a vacuum tester to test the servo for leaks. Autozone or some such might have an affordable one.

If it's a pinhole leak in the diaphragm will the whole servo need to be replaced, or is there a way to fix the leak???
