You are referring to the "S" trim level?

For 2017, the lease numbers are .00070 and 52% for 36 months, 15,000 miles per year.

Negotiate your best price, just like you would for a purchase, and we can run the numbers to tell you what the lease payment ought to be.

What state do you live in? What is the sales tax rate?

Also could you help me to understand what .00070 means?

We would need to know the MSRP (sticker price) and the cap cost (negotiated price plus any taxes or fees you are not paying up front) in order to calculate a payment.

You said the drive off is $546.25 - the $1250 is an incentive that is applied to the price.

    Hi everyone,

lease on my '14 Jetta S is about to mature, so I've been given these numbers for a 2017 Jetta S with cold weather package, first aid kid and the rubber mats:

    This is for a 3 year/36k lease on a 2017 Jetta S automatic

    - invoice price (after $820 destination fee and $150 "VW local marketing assessment") :  $19,755.00

    - MSRP: $20,480.00

    - Cap cost/ sale price offered by dealership: $18,005.00
         - Sales tax: $665.77
         -dealer/state fees: $277.50

    - Total cap cost/sale price: $18,948.27

    - Residual value: $10,845.90

    - Monthly payment: $248.80 "sign and drive"

Does this seem in-line? Numbers seem a bit high for some reason.

    Thanks in advance!

Edit: I am located in upstate NY (Albany area)

Sounds like a solid deal. Was it a 3/36k sign and drive type lease? Auto trans? Just curious for comparison sake.

    Thanks

    Thanks

I only gave them the first month when I signed the paperwork. The payment also factored in the last 2 payments of my old lease, about $1000 of mileage charges and a damaged bumper that I didn't get repaired.

I think my VW dealer was desperate to make a deal.

Yes, 36 months and 12,000 miles per year.

Yes, automatic transmission but no other options - it's pretty well loaded for me (Apple CarPlay, push button start, rear camera, heated seats).

Though I don't think I'll use all those miles - I've had the car almost 10 weeks and I've got 1200 miles on it.

What are the number for a Jetta GLI 12k 36m?
  • mrpottymrpotty Member Posts: 15

So I went into the dealership today for a test drive of a '17 Jetta S (auto w/ cold weather package) and some numbers. Here's where we ended up. This is with the dealer factoring the $460 I owe for the 2 lease payments left on my old Jetta:

    -MSRP: $20,480

    -"Savings" : $3,000

    -Cap cost: $17,480.00

    -sales tax: $642.84

    -dealer/state fees: $277.50

    • TOTAL price: $18,400.34

    Monthly payment for 3/36k: $246.78

I like the car, but this is more than what I'm paying for the 3/36 lease on my '14 Jetta S. What am I missing here? Why would they only come down about $500 on the cap cost?

Not sure what is meant by "only come down about $500"?
    Looks like a $3000 discount.
How much is due at signing?
Did they disclose the money factor used?

$0 due at signing. They didn't disclose the MF. The payment of $246.78 also included my 2 remaining lease payments rolled in there. Sounds like I need to find out the MF.

Another dealer just offered me $232 a month for a 3 year/36k with $0 up front. Need more details from them though as all they quoted online was a payment.

There are four components to calculate a lease payment; only two of them are variable:

    MSRP
    Residual
    MF
    Adjusted cap cost

The adjusted cap is the selling price plus any taxes or fees you aren't paying up front, plus the two remaining payments on your current lease. Get that number, and we can run the payment calculations using the standard MF.

What state and tax rate is this?

Hi any special deals on the GLI 12k 36m this weekend?
  • mrpottymrpotty Member Posts: 15
Hi michaell. It's New York State (Albany county). I honestly do not know the tax rate. They'll be sending me over a revised sheet with the numbers tomorrow but for some reason are not very transparent about the MF

That's common. Might want to contact multiple dealers.
