    I guess its the heavy LA traffic. My MPG drops when I'm NOT doing my daily drive. Highway driving gets 46 MPG.

    I'd much rather have your Kia Optima with its more stately appearance, larger interior volume, and it only costs a little more to buy and operate. The Civic probably has better trade-in value, though.

    Highway driving which gives 46 MPG is impressive. Over on Fuelly.com this figure is both substantiated and bested.
