Who got the steal of a lifetime when you purchased your new 2017 Subaru Legacy with option packages 1 and 2 - how much did you pay, what did the price include and where did you get it? Looking for a dealer willing to negotiate.

Thanks!

    What engine?

We just show one option for the Limited - the EyeSight + Navigation + High Beam Assist + Reverse Auto Brake package with an MSRP around $1,600.

Well, mixing your numbers with ours, invoice is going to be around $30,000. The True Market Value average price paid is running about $200 less than invoice.

Building one at Subaru.com, the "popular package" is dealer installed, and that's why we don't list it as a factory option.

I think a steal would be $1,000 below invoice or $29,000 (including destination but not taxes and registration). Good luck and please keep us posted.

    Anyone else shopping?

I've got a offer on a 2017 Legacy from a dealer in MD (the DC area) for $29221. The vehicle is in transit and not yet on the lot and I have not replied with my go-to question - "What's the out the door price"? I feel that the answer to that question puts everyone on the same playing field (if you omit the taxes and registration if the dealer is not in your state). And I do ask for a price breakdown on each item, to include the options.

I'm not ready to pull the trigger until somewhere near year end - probably between Dec 15-31 as that appears to me to be "lot cleaning/quota meeting" time and dealers may be more inclined to deal. And, being later in the model year, the manufacturer may have some offers also.

Thankfully this is an "I want" purchase rather than an "I need" purchase so I can afford to wait a little while I gather pricing data from many dealers.

Waiting usually works to your advantage, and since you are shopping for a 2017, you shouldn't have any inventory concerns.

I got a new car on Dec. 31th back in 1998 and was proud of my timing.

Turns out that the manufacturer had extended the bonus period that year through the holiday weekend to Jan. 4th for the dealers.

So I still left money on the table. :D
