According to the print next to the truck bed 115V electrical outlet, the maximum power available is 150 watts with the engine off and 400 watts with the engine on. This is good performance for this type of outlet. However, typical older blenders, e.g. Oster 1-switch, draw about 1000 watts while newer blenders draw 1200 watts or more. Moreover, typical home electric skillets draw about 1500 watts. Thus, this electric outlet will not power either a blender or a skillet, as suggested in this report. It would be useful for lights (especially CFL or LED), a boom box, smaller tools, or a medium-size LCD TV. Just keep the total power consumption within the capacity of the outlet.
