I am trying to figure out pricing for a 2017 Mazda 6 Touring w/ Moonroof + Bose pkg that I am looking to finance. The MSRP is $27405 and Invoice is 25826, not including destination. I am eligible for the Mazda Employee Pricing S-Plan through my employer (I work for a part supplier) which lets me buy it at the invoice price minus any incentives. Is this a good price? or can I do better than invoice ? Are there any dealer cash or other incentives available (apart from 0.9% on a 60 month loan)?
Thanks!
- Ankur
Not sure about any dealer cash - often there's some "hood money" floating around though. All I see for incentives are those same low APR interest rates that you've found (you've done your homework).
TMV is generally $100 to $200 above invoice, depending on where you are (and a spot check of inventory indicates plenty of them in stock). Since TMV is an average, plenty of people are beating invoice.
The advantage with S-Plan is that it's quick and easy. The salesperson gets a mini commission typically and usually there's not a lot of other upselling going on.
I think I'd shop quotes and see how they come in, maybe get a Price Promise quote from us or try Costco or one of the other buying services.
My guess is that you can beat S-Plan a bit, especially since you are an educated consumer.
The real issue, although I almost always refer to it as a benchmark, is that invoice doesn't really mean much these days. There's so many other manufacturer to dealer incentives, bonuses, spiffs and the like that the real cost of the car to the dealer is buried. I bet the GM doesn't really know the true cost until the books get closed at the end of the month or quarter.
Looks like our incentive page hasn't been updated for November to show the lease cash, still just seeing the low APR stuff.
According to MazdaUSA, there is a $3000 rebate through 09/05/2017.

OTOH, Edmunds shows a number of loyalty and military rebates for the 2017 Mazda6, but not the $3k rebate.

2015 Subaru Outback 3.6R / 2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige
MSRP $31,770
Paid $25,919 + TT&L (incl doc fee $150) = $27,937 OTD in a cash deal with no trade-in, and no extended warranty.
Only a handful remain on dealers' lots around DFW, as they clear them out with Mazda rebates ($3500) to make way for the 2018s arriving soon.
