interior lights

the interior light stay on after closing doors, does anybody know what could cause this. the door switches work as they show on the dash whether the doors are opened or closed. just not operate the above interior to turn on and off.

    Probably whatever type of door switch activates the interior lights (some are in the A pillar by the hinges, some are in the door lock mechanism attached to the B pillar) is grounding out. The usual suspects are frayed wires that go through the door and into the car body---but the switches can also stick, or ground internally.

    It's also possible that some module isn't turning off properly.
