TEMPERATURE PROBLEMS

I have a 2006 Silverado c1500 6 cylinder bare my problem is my heat works fine till temp hits 210 then blows out cold and the temperature gage pegs out and then goes back down it keeps doing it replaced thermostat to start it is 3 degrees here and still doing it coolant hot pops up on my dash any idea what the problem could be thanks

Likely air in the system (assuming coolant is up to snuff and not frozen) . Perhaps the air wasn't properly bled out after T-stat change.

Could also be a broken impeller in the water pump, or a head gasket issue. You can buy a cheap chemical tester to test for combustion gases in your coolant.
