2005 Odyssey Transmission Problem

I just had the rebuilt transmission replaced as the old one started slipping.
The new one is also causing some trouble--although I don't feel it as the transmission seems to be working fine. From time to time, I get a check transmission indicator on with a flashing D4 indicator. When I turn off the engine and restart, the errors disappear. But then the flashing D4 and check transmission error will appear again, either soon after driving or sometime later--and doesn't matter whether I'm easing out of a stop or accelerating up onto a hill. But, there is no vibration or jerky gear shifts.

Anyone has had a similar issue or might suggest a fix?

Thanks!

Look. If there's no real-world trouble with your tranny, ignore the "dummy light". What you could do, to erase the trouble code (which would necessitate having to reprogram the stereo) is to remove the NEGATIVE battery cable for 30 seconds, then reattach it. Then take the beast for a short drive. If the light re-appears, BUT there's no real trouble with gear shifting through all the gears, take it to an auto parts store (Auto Zone or Jiffy Lube) that does FREE trouble code reading, and get a print out of what the computer says. Then go from there. That's what I would do. Also, check the trans fluid level - start the motor, pull the trans dipstick, WIPE IT OFF, put it back in, then pull it out to get a good reading on the dipstick. It could be your fluid is low. Do all of that, get back on here and post the results.

The light is telling you that a trouble code is stored in the TCM--you should have the car scanned to see what's going on. The code will probably give you enough information to make an informed diagnosis (or to return it to the transmission shop--they have a scan tool I'm sure).
