When the money factor isn't supported, then 48 months isn't so bad.

The .00224 MF is the standard rate from VW. Other models have what's known as a 'supported' MF, which is much lower.

The Jetta, for example, has a MF that is .00015.

Have you considered an S3? MF on those is lower than .00224, as well.

A limited edition like the Golf R may never see competitive lease rates. I don't think VW is having any trouble moving them.

I see $4500 discounts on GTIs, but most of that discount doesn't apply if leasing. I'll guess the R is similar.

MF on the Golf R is .00214 this month. Seems silly for the dealer to mark it up such a small amount.

And, I show the 24/12 residual is 72%; 73% for 24/10

If I add the acquisition fee to the sale price, I get $502/mo for 24/10, before tax. That assumes all other fees and taxes are paid up front.

It's called the free market. Dealers can inflate the MF for extra profit. Golf R is scarce and popular so dealers often try to take advantage.

Or, they are quoting you a high MF until they have a chance to run your credit.

Confirm the latter isn't the case; if so, politely tell them to pound sand, er, that you won't sign a deal where the MF has been marked up. They know the base rate.
