MINI Cooper Countryman Trunk Open Light

Now I'm getting an alert that says my trunk is open. No matter how often I close it, it will notify me that it is open. Now my back windshield wiper isn't working either. Would you say this is an electrical issue?

    Well both seem like electrical issues, although probably not related. The trunk open light is almost certainly the latch/switch that detects that the trunk isn't latched. First place I'd look.

    Rear wiper not working could be a loss of power to the rear wiper motor (a wire or connection broken) or the motor itself having gone bad.

    I'm also going to retitle this discussion to make it clearer what problem you're having

    It is possible (not sure without a diagram) that these two function do share the same harness.
