Why are my lugs still loose after tightening?

I have a 2004 Chevy Suburban 1500 LS 2wd. My Chevy had 22 inch Cruiser Enzo Rims on it when I bought it. I decided to go back to a stock rim size p255 70 r 17. I have the stock rims and tires on now and my lugs tighten up but very quickly come loose... What is going on?

I also want to note the fact that the "stock rims and tires" are off a 2016 Chevy Silverado. Lug pattern and everything else matches up just fine, just cant keep lug nuts tight.

Any ideas and advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Hhmm Using OEM lug nuts or the Cruiser ones? Proper torque when tightening them ?

    Could be due to over-torquing---the threads on the studs are stretched. This is a somewhat serious issue, so I'd consider new studs and lugs.

    It's possible that the angle of the nut face does not match the O.E. wheels if you are still using the ones that came with the aftermarket wheels. If that is the case, you could tighten them, but there isn't enough friction to maintain torque. Try getting a set of nuts that match the O.E. and make sure to torque them with a torque wrench.
