2001 suburban over heating at higher speeds

Hi I'm having issues with my suburban we just had tranny worked on last week. When we go 60 mph or faster it over heats real quick unless we out heater on full blast. It drives nice with no issues in town anyone know what could be wrong with it

    Overheating at high speed is usually a coolant circulation problem, not a cooling fan problem. So you might have thermostat issues, clogging in the cooling system, air in the cooling system.

    First thing I would check is coolant level, both overflow and radiator (if it has normal cap). After that perhaps T-stat or water pump issue. What year and how many miles on it?

    Hhmm Getting up there in age. Cooling system flushed and refilled at reasonable intervals. Dexcool or compatible still being used, or was it switched to older type coolant at some point?
