Has anyone personally replaced a Tranny on a 2001 Mazda MPV ? I wish to do the work myself , having never done anything like this before. How easy is it ?

How easy? With the right tools it is a very typical front wheel drive operation. I wouldn't even consider attempting this without them.

The first thing you need is tooling to support the engine and transaxle from above while you remove the cradle. (engine and transaxle mounts) . This is done with an engine holding fixture like this one. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/otc-4324/overview/
There are a lot of different versions of these and while that all are universal to a point, every once in a while you will come across a vehicle that you may need a different one for some unexpected reason.

Then you need a transmission jack of some type because an automatic transaxle is way to heavy to take out and reinstall by hand. Which of course leads to the problem of getting the car high enough in the air to do the job since everything comes out the bottom. You will need the car at least three feet in the air, allowing for the height of the transmission sitting on the transmission jack. It can be done with less, but you might be faced with getting the transmission on/off the jack while it is underneath the car.

No sir but I'm about to drop mine and change the 4th gear solenoid. I got a good idea on how to do it. wished you lived by me I would sure give you a hand.

The solenoids can be serviced in the car without removing the transmission. Which solenoid are you planning to address? There isn't one that is called "4th gear" they are listed as A, B and C in service information. The reason that I ask is if 4th gear is the only gear that isn't working it is unlikely to be a solenoid since the different gears are commanded by varying the combination of solenoids that are turned on. A faulty solenoid "usually" results in the loss of more than one gear ratio. What symptoms/codes are present?
