Looking at the following offer for a 540Xi. They would also be making the final 2 payments of $522 on my current lease and keeping the car.

Resid: 60% @ 36/12k
MF: 00182 --> .00147 w/ 7 MSDs (have $3300 in MSDs on my current BMW lease)
MSRP: $73685
Sell Price: $65000
Rebate: $3000 ($2000 loyalty, $1000 Lease credit)
Adj Cap Cost: $62000
Capped Fees: $1824 ($925 Acq, $750 lic/reg, $149 doc)
Total Taxes: $1424.40 (this is where i get a little confused...the dealer is in SD, but I'm in Iowa which taxes the monthly payment @ 5% - so curious why they don't have a "base payment" then a "payment with tax" - but, see below, seems like it comes within a couple $s regardless)
Adj Cap Cost: $65248.40
Amt due at Signing: $2695.28 ($1950 to max out MSDs and first payment)
Monthly: $745.28

Using the leasehackr calculator, it comes up with $704 base, $739 after tax (it also adds in $150 due at signing for the tax on the rebates...which if they roll that into the payment adds $4.17...which puts me at $743.17)...so basically w/in a couple dollars of their quote.

Look accurate/good to you guys?

Not sure that you would pay SD tax, if you live in Iowa. I'd suggest you do some research on that issue, so you don't get surprised.

Here is a quote I recieved on a 530xi with 9000 miles for 36/10k. Dealer sales rep said residual factor gets reduced 6pts to 54% due to high starting mileage and they also took an excess mileage charge of $1700. Is that correct?

Yes, that is correct.

But, that is almost 25% off MSRP, which may make up for the decrease in residual.

I'm guessing you could get a similar deal on a new unit.

Money factor is marked up from .00182

I'm going to have to disagree. With just first payment and DMV upfront, I don't think you could get that payment on a new one. That's a pretty good deal.

I'm looking at a 2018 540d with 7100 miles on it. The sales person claims it is not leasable because a) it's more than 5000 miles and b) BMW changed their lease program (from back when I leased my current high mileage loaner).

Clearly this is BS - unless it is a regional thing? (Maryland).

Question: what would be expected residual and mileage penalty? The listed sales price is $54,500 (from an MSRP of $69K). Since incentives are no longer applicable is this also what I should be looking at as capitalization cost (sans fees)?

It can be leased - deduct 4% from the stated residual, plus subtract .25/mile for the 7100 miles.

What lease term and how many miles per year are you looking at?

21% off sticker is pretty decent, given the number of miles.

Yes, the selling price would be the cap cost, if youi plan on paying all taxes and fees up front.

We've always thought it started with the first mile, but others have posted that the first 500 miles are on the house, so to speak.

How do you calculate the residual on a demo? I understand what you stated above, that they charge you .25/mile and deduct that from the residual price, but are you saying that they also adjust the residual percentage, and if so, by how many points? I found a 540i demo with 6519 miles that I would like to lease for 24/10 in SoCal? Since 6519x.25= 1629.75/24 months= 67.90, do I simply add 67.90 to the month payment, or do I also adjust the original 67% RV downward, and if so, by how much?

If the car has between 5000 and 7499 miles, you subtract 4% from the published residual and deduct the $1629.25 from that amount.

Also, you lose any incentives if over 5000 miles

Let's assume MSRP is $65,000

67% - 4% = 63%, or $40,950, less $1629.25

$39,320.75 is the adjusted residual.

Current programs run through January 2nd. It's possible they could add incentives, but not likely. Better deals might be had in the week between Christmas and New Years, though.

The deal seems fair. I don't like paying marked up money factors. That adds $1200 to your deal.

Is loyalty or some other rebate part of the discount?

It might still be a decent deal... but, it's good to see it for what it is, and not get blown away by the "$9600" discount.

I feel it could have been 15-20 a month cheaper, but they were way higher started at 768 w/ 2k down. Then got to $678 with 2k down. I pushed for 630. They said no, then I left. the next day manager reached out saying 654 with 2k down. I said know. They called a couple more times and I finally went to 644. Actually very polite sales team, but thanks to Michael and these types of sites, I didn't spend an extra 4k. Good luck to everyone else. Do your research!!
