1998 jeep grand Cherokee front tires hop even in 2wd

I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo it has the 242 transfer case (selec-trac) I just bought it about a month ago and I just recently replaced the t case chain and now driving down the road in 2wd or 4wd the front tires skip or act like they are dragging. Any ideas of what may be wrong? Thanks in advance
