We drove about 1,700 miles in our 2017 Ford Escape this month. Its fuel economy is still underwhelming, but maybe not as bad as we were previously reporting.

    That steering wheels does look a little Nerf-y for 32K.

    After my experiences with a turbo-charged Volvo, I have to say that regular gas is a false economy. I see the mindset that only "prestige" cars take premium is alive and well at Edmunds even after the Chevy Cruze proved that turbos run best with premium.

    My rental Escape in Miami was a bad choice.We had to start it up early just to let it cool off enough for rear seat passengers.At least I had a cool right hand on the steering wheel.
