Oil pressure sending unit electrical connector

I am trying to remove the electrical connector for the oil pressure sending unit on my 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T with a 3.6 Flex fuel motor.
I have my hand on the end of the connector and I can depress what feels like the release right on the end. However, no matter how hard I push on that tab, I am not able pull the connector off. It pulls only slightly. I watched a video with a Chrysler tech and he seemed to pull it of rather easily. Either the connector is jammed against a hose that runs parallel to the sensor(firewall side) or the connector has the dreaded red lock. I wondered if I should keep pushing or do I have the lock to contend with?
