Car Buying Advice - BMW X1 Lease

Hello, I am about to lease a new 2017 x1 and wanted to get advice on if I am getting a good deal or not as I have never leased before.

My trade was valued in at $2500 and I was going to put $5,000 cash down. The vehicle is with the m sport package so a little more $$ than base so a msrp of $42K

total down: $7,500
Mileage: 10k a year for 36 months

Monthly Payment came out to be: $334/month

I am located in California for reference.

Any idea of the selling price or adjusted CAP cost?

$7500 upfront basically means you are paying $530/mo.

The selling price was 43.5K with a cap cost of 38.5K. Would it be better to put less cash down and pay a higher monthly?

Yes - any down payment money is at risk of being lost if the car is stolen or totaled.
