Does the occasional beeping of the seat belt warning system continue forever if you don't fasten seat belts ?

    I feel a laboratory experiment coming on......my guess is that it doesn't.

    For various reasons I haven't been on any long trips recently, but it seems to me that the beeping has been going on longer than it used to.

    Why wouldn't the seat belt be fastened?
