Calling Los Angeles-based car shoppers: Have you recently traded in (or plan to trade in) a car with negative equity (i.e. the amount you owe on your auto loan is greater than the car's value)? A reporter would like to speak with you; please reach out to PR@Edmunds.com by 11/6 for details.

At what point will the lease deals start for the 2018 430 Gran Coupe??

Was at the dealer the other day and they lease awful, looking to make a move on a car soon but not at the deals they are currently offering, when can we expect the factory to start to want to move 2018 models off the lot?

Just a guess, but I suspect that when the 2017's are gone, the deals on the 2018's might get a little bit better.

But, BMW has been slowly making their leases more expensive over the last few months.

Dropped the MSD program last spring.

Changed the residual value calculations on demo vehicles over the summer.

And, the MF has been creeping up (was around .00130 this spring, now around .00150)

any thoughts as to why BMW has been making their lease's more expensive? It almost makes sense to get outside financing and to purchase instead at this rate.

The bubble burst. BMW is going the way of Audi.

What he said - or, they are simply trying to make more profit on each transaction. Sacrificing profit for volume didn't seem to be a winning formula.
