Hi - maybe I’m missing it (I’m assuming I am) but I’m getting this math:

61% on a $76,150 car comes to paying $29,699 in lease (without taxes and fees)

$29,699 over 36 months is $824 

He was saying 5k down which would bring the monthly payment to $686

All calculations do not include taxes and fees of course - what am I missing?

Finance charges.. The money factor on the lease is roughly equivalent to 3.65% APR.
You are borrowing the CAP cost, and only paying it down to the residual. So, 3.65% applied to an average of about $62,000 for the life of the lease. (about $190/mo. for finance portion of the lease)

Also, you don't multiply the selling price by the residual percentage. Residual is always a percentage of the full MSRP.

That's not at all how a lease works. Do some research on how lease payments are calculated and you will actually stand a chance at getting a good deal, otherwise you're at the mercy of the dealer.

Thanks for the numbers. Does USAA 2000 discount apply to lease? Or would the BMWFS CCA/Recent Graduate program apply to the lease? I think they do but are at the discretion of the dealership last I recall when talking to BMWFS directly.
