Please. my car did overheat since 4days ago, is still running but make knocking sound, please what should i do?

Have you added coolant and checked to make sure its at proper level? If so and you had driven an overheated vehicle for some distance, major damage may have occurred

yes, i added 1can of coolant but the noise is still the same. so i should focus on the engine or the cooling system?
